Pros & Cons
Pros
The astroal gauge measures the same as my stick gauge, 36 psi equals 36 psi. The 100 psi max dial is more suited for lower psi tires, as i don't need a gauge that goes up to 150 psi, or even 220 psi as those i have seen on line. The gauge automaticall... Read More
The materials and components are obviously better than the cheep stuff. Love the latch on connector. A great addition to a 2 car, bikes, air mattresses etc.
Once the chuck no longer holds, it seems like it will be easy enough to swap out. When hooked up to an air compressor, it is extremely easy to adjust the pressure.
Cons
Only used about 6 times. No pressure to inflate anything. It kind of works if i hold the catch open and jam the chuck onto the stem, but that doesn't work so well if you have to jam your fist between bicycle spokes. Look at longacre brand for better q... Read More
Instead the gauge just heads to say 70 right off on the reading. I like the idea of the dial gauge on the air chuck, but it is not accurate after one adds air.
Highlights
Quality
Great item with limited vision dial makes it easy to see air pressure, i recommend this item
Nicely made gauge is easy to read without my reading glasses.
Snaps on the stem, shows tire pressure immediately and fills with the squeeze of the handle.
The teeth on the original chuck are way too far out, they skip past the threads, which is probably the cause of most of the bad reviews.
Price
I had low expectations because of the price, but i love this thing!
Got rid of it in a garage sale for $2 and went back to the old school tire pressure stick.
They did in fact send me an entirely new unit at no cost and so far, the unit is working fine.
Shipping
Ordered it and it was at my house in two days.
Packaging/appearance
In the picture the top one is the new one and the bottom is the one that came with the inflator.
[edit: i'm guessing that where i see one catch it's a cad image rather than a photograph.
Competitiveness
A total pita, so just replace the end with a good one such as jaco brand.
However, the reading is consistently higher than the car's tpms reports.
I tried buying replacement air hose units for two older big box brand inflators that had lost their end point trigger connect t... Read More
