Pros
The keyboard is comfortable, all keys are illuminated and the action very smooth. The only con is the power button, which is placed on the top right corner of the keyboard palette. I normally have a bluetooth keyboard connected so not a huge issue.
Even with notoriously constipated windows, it boots up in a few seconds thanks to the high-capacity ssd. The laptop is extremely fast, devoid of third-party garbage software you may be used to on other pcs or laptops sold by other companies. fast m.
First impression is of a good-looking and solidly built machine. No one notices it but me. Everything is etched in permanently.
Windows 10, 8gb ram, 4gb graphics card. Overall the computer performs very well.
Cons
It isn't a 970, i tell you wut. Hdd. It looks like the motherboard may have gone.
The keyboard layout is quite weird. It's only tolerable if you sit across the room. The laptop is ok but the trackpad ruins the experience.

Price
Great price and value for a gaming lap top
I am extremely pleased with this mid range gaming laptop, for the price (i purchased for $760).
If you really want more power, you could go for the i7-7700hq, but it looks like you'll need an extra $300 or so in your budget.
Too me, it was worth every penny.
Shipping
Start up is super fast, which is expected and it didn't come with a whole bunch of nonsense pre-installed.
Packaging/appearance
I opened the box and my first thought was "wow, the pictures of this laptop don't do it justice".
Competitiveness
The quality is much better than i've ever gotten on xbox which is a plus.
It makes that much of a difference in terms of startup and loading/using games and applications.
The laptop is extremely fast, devoid of third-party garbage software you may be used to on other pcs or laptops sold by other companies.
It looks like acer has a competitor with a nvidia 1050 gtx graphics card, which is better that the 960 in this laptop.
