Pros
Clear picture with no noticable skips. I so infrequently use it that it isn't a negative issue for me. Support outstanding and the product durable and well made.
The curse of ultra slim laptops and cheap manufacturers is we are stuck purchasing external optical drives. The good news is they are inexpensive and usb almost always lives up to its universal name. Super light and portable accessory.
Cons
The door is very fragile. It pops open by itself. The cd whirs andamp; stops, whirs & stop. It uses two usb ports and a y cable is far to short between usb ports to be useful.

Be aware that the newer shipments do not include the vertical stand

Honestly any accidental tip or hard bump can damage an optical disk so keeping the drive horizontal is a better idea anyway
