Rt-ax88u is a great wifi router. I have 600 mb up/down plan with verizon and this router clocks speed of 700 mb up/ down in the same floor of a 3000 sqft house. My wife and daughter's wifi signal is now 3-4x the speed (220+mbps) vs. An rt68u.
This new asus router is awesome! The reliability of this thing is amazing. It's a bit bulky but seems like a reliable router so far.
This product is a game changer. No droped signals, no interruptions at all. The processor aka cpu is super powerful.

Cons
Even scheduling auto-reboot every night hasn't guaranteed normal hours operations. Seller has a 30 day return policy and it has been longer than 30 days. Hours go by and my frustration level keeps rising.
This by far is the slowest router i've ever owned. The device is extremely overpriced and loaded with extra features. It is overwhelming how terrible this overpriced piece of plastic and painted copper trash this is.

I've tested 10+ wifi systems and using two of these meshed together blows them all out of the water.

If you have dsl such as att and cannot specify a typical ip address range for dhcp read this

If you are setting up a brand new network or you do not have any preexisting static or reserved ip addresses in your network or you do not know what dhcp is then skip the last section of this review

However if you are like me and need to set up this router to be a direct replacement in kind for an older asus or other router and you have dsl service you may find that if try to set up a typical dhcp server range it may return an out of range error

The solution for this is to go into to the dhcp ip settings on the dsl gatewayrouter and check to see if it is set for the same ip address range that you are trying to set your asus to
