Pros & Cons
Pros
Qos configuration and imposing internet restrictions are the easiest that i ever experienced on a router. The built-in configuration menu system is intuitive and easy on the eyes. The only thing i wish was better is the somewhat confusing ui.
Speedtest wifi 230 megabits, lan greater than a gigabit. Ghz band is exceptionally powerful in that i get all bars while connected to it through 90% of my house. Did this to configure. The 5ghz band to solve my problem.
Cons
Asus does not stand behind their defective products. They discourage any type of warranty repairs or replacements.
I am completely unimpressed by asus' products and customer service. It advertises itself as a gigabit wifi router. This is somewhat of a scam. This product is not worth the frustration.
The fastest data rate yiu can get into the system is 100mbps. The 5ghz no longer works and 2. Ghz coverage is much worse than 5ghz when in theory it should be otherwise. The 4 antennas are just decoration.
Highlights
Quality
Super great product and easy to set up
Love it, had it for couple of years, still working, and the signal is strong.
Followed instructions and it doesn’t state that there’s already a default password to use.
Works with a 256mb stick but both my 1tb sticks wouldn't work.
Price
Needed an inexpensive router for working from home and this one does the trick!
Good router for the price, great range, and speeds.
This product has paid for itself over and over.
Not much to say here other than this is an inexpensive router that does the job.
Shipping
Drop shipped to my non-tech daughter in college.
Packaging/appearance
Repackaged in original box and included all parts from oem.
Competitiveness
With every penny, asus still makes one of the best routers out there.
I gave tech support 4 stars because i didn't need tech support.
I went from netgear nighthawk and no-name brand router nightmares to this router after reading so many good reviews about it.
Recently i ordered a rock space ax1800 for $30 and the asus 1300 had better 2.
