Pros & Cons
Pros
Top notch router for any home or small office environment. One of the standout features of this router is how easy it is to setup and how many things you can customize on the asus website. Very pleased with this router, the robust built-in trendnet an... Read More
The asus rt-ax86u pro (ax5700) is an excellent choice for households with more serious connectivity needs or you have yet to get a wifi 6 router. Transferring the former asus router config file settings from a saved merlin config file per se, will tak... Read More
The web based browser dashboard is easy to access with a browser (my preference) and it has all the customizations i am looking for. Just the future proofing benefits alone make this a brilliant concept. Mot to mention bug fixes.
The antennae are not molded, they screw into attachements. Which means you can replace asus' antennae with your own with no soldering or modification. Both are wifi 6 capable, dual band (2.
Cons
The wan port must have died. Fortunately it appears it's still returnable. Older one that died performed better, even though it did have the same hiccups of the 2.
The netgear nighthawk is more reliable than the zaku. The zaku is not as fast as the nighthawks. The app to access the router is a joke.
As a computer programmer who has 25 years of experience in the hardware / software business i have to say this is a completely terrible way to run a company. a very disappointing device, and a lousy customer support. Screw asus, and their trash produc... Read More

Secure, ease of setup and use, great router!

The antennae are not molded, they screw into attachements.
Price
I recommend it -- good performance at a good price!
At 200 bucks a pop my wallet was a bit reticent to add a 3rd rt-ax86u pro, so i settled for an asus rp-ax58 aimesh extender.
I paid more for this when i first purchased it then they are selling it now but it is well worth the purchase price if you choo... Read More
Shipping
I have gig fiber internet so should be getting parallel uploads but got nowhere near that (astound).
I would much appreciate the amazon customer support related to the shipment of this unit.
However, i was pleasantly surprised to notice our internet sites loaded much faster with our ethernet connection.
Packaging/appearance
I had it unboxed and configured in 30 minutes.
Well now that i have my router installed and the packaging is all in my recycle bin, i see the very same router model on amazon... Read More
I read the box, but my expectations have far been exceeded.
Competitiveness
Replaced my older netgear nighthawk with this and there was a big difference.
In comes this router: reasonably priced, and with a similar physical footprint as the old one.
Netgear also had a flaw where despite broadcasting the same ssid on all satellites, some clients still could differentiate betw... Read More

It was a bit painful trying to find a router that fit my needs without breaking the bank and i also took the design into consideration while purchasing one too

After all its not common to find a router that stands without needing to be wall mounted and also looking sleek and not overly gamery or over the top like some other routers are on the market
