And the price was very good for a name brand unit.
Competitiveness
It does also feel a bit more solidly put together than the no-name brand external drives i've used.
There are many less expensive brands but i suspect the quality of those may not be as good.

Thus we needed an external drive to play dvds and also burn data from cdsdvds to the computer and back

Documentation is not great but easy enough to get it going
