It is lighter weight than the trimline of the 1980s because there is no mechanical bell and other components i guess

No problem with the phone however be aware that if you are purchasing a landline phone to use in a power outage the phone will not work if your service goes through your internet provider and a modem

You can turn the ring volume down low so it doesn’t bother you
