Pros & Cons
Pros
Now that i saw it works, i just need to hunker down and try the dreaded pie crust! The ateco pastry cloth is a perfect gift for the baker in your life. It is a neat and efficient way to get my pie crusts looking professional with no hassle or mess.
Everything i buy from ateco is phenomenal. You will not be disappointed. It is fine. Very satisfied. Excited to find it at amazon.
The cloth is durable and i would anticipate it lasting a long time. The cover is more sturdy than one purchased at a regular store. Works exactly as people say.
It’s a game changer! My only complaint is that the cloth is bigger then my counterspace. Cleanup is a snap.
Cons
The pastry cloth is too stiff (something like a stiff in a grave) and the rolling pin cover is way to long. What's the problem here?
Highlights
Quality
I read the reviews before i bought it, and the negative comments didn't apply to my use of the product.
She was truly pleased with this product.
I am struggling with the rolling pin cover since it's longer than my rolling pin and the excess fabric kind of grabs on the handles.
You can tell that this is a over the top quality cloth the first time you open it up.
Price
I am quite pleased and the price was o.
But the cost, i could not make one at this price.
Packaging/appearance
My pie crust dough slides around on it like a fried egg on teflon with very little flour incorporated into the dough.
The cloth won’t absorb the moisture from the dough.
You will want to keep it taut or, it will bunch up causing you a problem as your roll the pin across the dough.
I also purchased the ateco 692 non-slip pastry cloth pad from amazon, and i would recommend it if you're going to be rolling st... Read More
Competitiveness
Ateco’s cloth is a generous 25” x 20”; a little larger than some of its competitors.
She had a wonderful experience with ateco pastry cloth and rolling pin cover.
It may seem like opening the package and using these two products is a no-brainer; but don’t do it.
I wasn't sure i would be successful so didn't want to spend a lot on fancy products.
