Pros
For my arts & crafts purposes this cutter set does the job. These sturdy cookie cutters have the inside cutouts also.
This way, the letters are a little more firm and transfer without as much distortion. Just be sure to have a small tool like a chopstick handy for the numbers with holes in the middle. Perfect mini-sized alphabet cutters.
Cons
It was extremely difficult to get the dough letter off of the hunk of dough and onto the baking sheet. The cutter tool that is used for food and made from stainless steel easily get rust.
Highlights
Quality
I was hesitant to spend the money ($40) on these - it seems a bit high - but they are good quality.
With the first method the negative space dough can be used in the next roll-out.
Only complaint is some of the holes in the words don't line up with the bottom, so they don't cut all the way through.
Competitiveness
I thought that they would be really really sturdy considering they're an ateco product but the letters bend too easily for my taste.
I use them with my young kids with playdoh, & paint stamping & they are sturdy.

The only thing i would change is a couple of letters seem larger then the others so you have to trim them down to look like they are the same size

The 2 and 5 look like upside down versions of each other the same cutter is used for 9 and 6 the 4 doesnt look as pictured it looks like a little lightning bolt

Not sure about the cookies as they might be very small

I did not always remove the hole completely but dug it out some leaving a thin layer in the background
