The first thing i did after checking for imperfections splinters unevenness was to put a coat of food grade mineral oil on the pin and wait 24 hours before applying another layer because its wood and needs to be taken care of

I would have actually preferred it to be a few inches shorter but i can always saw it down it it really starts to bother me
