Pros & Cons
Pros
Easy to install and works great. Works like a charm.
Relay allows using any smart thermostat with a 220v system. Used to power a receptacle for my circulation pump for radiant floor heat.
This is work great sooooo easy to convert my line voltage to low 24 with relay. Humidistat runs on 24v which this transformer provides. Works well for getting a 120v system to work with a 24v thermostat.
A 120v heater with 1400w showing at the kill-a-watt. W all the time, even when heater off. W in a 2a resistive fuse.
Cons
It works, but tends to blip out and reset the thermostat on manual hold. Could not power my ecobee 4 and and a signal to the furnace at the same time.
Highlights
Quality
I like the quality and shipping time.
You can never go wrong with this brand of product.
I found that the nest thermostat would not work with the honeywell ra89a control relay that was originally installed.
I can't tell with the kill-a-watt as the kill-a-watt does not turn on.
Price
Good price, been using for a couple months and works great.
Price was $24 when i purchased a couple days ago, you can probably find a cheaper version now.
Competitiveness
It allows using any smart thermostat with a 220v system.
I have searched for a 120v smart thermostat for a really long time when really all i needed was this transformer/relay!
No excess heat when running a 15a 120v heater.
Had to return this one as i needed to switch external wires, not a 120v.

Apparently this might be normal off voltage as the other model rc850 manual indicates that the off voltage should be lt5vac
