Pros & Cons
Pros
The at2020 is a good starter microphone but perhaps not the best. It's pretty good for a beginner mic. The only downside to this microphone is that, in certain environments, it can be too sensitive to ambient noise.
It captures my voice in a very natural way. The only issue is for some reason the little copper screw on fixture you use to mount the shockmount to is too small, so the mic randomly turns on it's own. Buying any xlr microphone requires that you buy eq... Read More
Highly recommend the scarlet. The sound quality and connectivity is impeccable. It comes with an xlr cable so you have to buy that seperately to hook it up.
A little sensitive for popping, a filter or at least a foam is a good idea. The sound is so much clear and crisp.
Cons
The sound is just ok, there is not much any special about it. There are a lot of stains on the microphone, which can not be removed with the cleaner. You need a phantom power supply if you get the xlr one and you have to turn 3 different pc volume set... Read More

Both mics are industry standard with the at2020 occupying the lowend throne for studio mics and the sm58 being the stage standard but the at2020 is just far more suitable for studio work

The audio quality on this one is pristine requiring me to use no voice effects from my rodecaster duo to reach a quality sound
