Pros

Audio engine is an excellent monitor for pc. The woofer puts out bass that rivals speakers three times it size. The sound of dac is loud and crystal clear, even when i play music with spotify(pc) sound is so clear and the bass is not bad at all.

These are built better and have almost as good sound, imho. They're just perfect for speech and work-related audio. My audio goals in my office for personal music is not huge and i figured as long as something sounded nice - i would be fine.

They sound much much bigger than their small footprint would lead you to believe. There is not problem at all sitting maybe 1 meter away from them and having them spaced maybe 1.

Build quality of the speakers is superb.

Cons

The first set of speakers makes a loud popping noise whenever i boot up or shut down my computer. The bass is anemic.

Audioengine requires you to pay shipping back in forth. We hope our feedback deters others from being fooled into thinking you are a company worth dealing with.

Their sound is inexcusable for their price. My ue boom 2 single portable speaker sounds better than these speakers.

Price

I found these speakers but was put off by the price so searched alternative options but kept coming back to these.

Packaging/appearance

Got them yesterday, set them up today - and i knew they were going to be good right out of the box.

Packaging- packaging was good, the main box (colored one) was covered with a brown box.

Competitiveness

And a huge improvement over the competition.

I replaced a decade-old klipsch promedia 2.

So initially had ordered another competitor that was $40bucks cheaper.

If you have a homepod these sound better to me.
