Pros & Cons
Pros
Todays music is bass and kick heavy. Bose makes up for it's midrange with a boomy sub. This is where you really need a sub to get those low-ends.
The sound stage opens up dramatically and get an almost surround sound feel. It's great for acoustic tracks, but fingers moving up and down frets, and the strings can sometimes have a very jarring sound at higher levels.
When using the aux port from the steelseries base station to the speakers, basically pre-amped at that point, the speakers are really quite good. These little speakers are absolutely epic. I'm amazed in how rich these speakers sound and fill the room!... Read More
They are compact enough to fit on a bookshelf. They are crisp, clear and loud enough.
From my laptop i connect via a dedicated usb dac. Easily paired with my tablet, iphone etc. Plus, these have bluetooth.
Cons
Loud crackling noise come out of the speakers. No sound, not even static. It works sometimes but most of the time i just used my headset. I was immensly disaapointed with the sound quality for the price here.
I was expecting bose like performance. I like bass, but this is too much. I recommend paying out the * for a different brand.
Highlights
Quality
These are the best pc desktop speakers i've ever had.
Perhaps this is the best feature of the a2s: creating a satisfying listening experience at relatively low volumes.
Great connectivity options, the tv ended working best with the headphone sized jack since the regular rca terminals on the tv were finicky.
The best thing about these a2+ speakers is their midrange clarity.
Price

I put a line out to a subwoofer, but these have enough bass to create a nicer more full sounds than my cheap sanyo tv.
The a2s, sounded thin and lean in comparison.

Its a bit too lite on the bass tho

Typical single box bluetooth speakers sound more bloated and muffled which might be easier on the ears when playing pop music but definitely more boring sounding when playing natural acoustic recordings

I tried them on my computer desk briefly

But since the desk is shoved into a corner the speakers sounded hootie which i disliked

The a2s sounded thin and lean in comparison
