This design in my opinion was to assure me that the cradle feature would protect my phone from accidentally falling over if not properly attached and it does give out that vibe of being sturdy and it is especially the retractable only issue i would say is depending on the case cover for your smartphone you might get the inclination that its not on properly but if you play around with it you can tell it does a grip on your phone

Had this for just shy of a year and i suppose for the price i should be happy however the cradle will no longer apply any pressure to the phone to hold it in place

I now need to tilt it way back and allow gravity to hold the phone instead of the cradle pressure

Its just a hassle when you have to put the phone into the mount or unscrew the back piece in the back to change the position of it

It is also possible i wasnt taking enough time to separate the two before trying to jam devices in it
