The availability of charging stations is getting better. Scheduling the charging to avoid peak hours is a great way to save on energy costs. The cost of electricity here varies during the day and the least expensive hours also change with the season.

The charger comes very well packed and the instructions are among the clearest and best i have seen. The instructions are clear and concise. Configuration and setup is straightforward as well. Installing the charger was a breeze.
Cons
Autel does not offer nfc as a feature! It is easy to install but then did not work. Autel expects me to pay to have the electrician return and fix their problem. To get it out of that state i have to unplug it by pulling out the giant 220v plug.

Price
I chose this one because it’s ul/csa tested and the price was great, got it on sale for black friday.
You can set your cost of electricity and have a great breakdown of how much electricity you use and what your final cost is.
If we're charging a fee we could easily make back the cost.
This is a premium charger at a not so premium price.
Packaging/appearance
This is the easiest evse to setup right out of the box.
The packaging was slightly damaged in one corner, with two minor scratches on the unit.
It appears that my circuit is 30a, so using the 80% rule-of-thumb, i went into the autel app and set the maximum charge rate to 24a.
Competitiveness
Already had a 240v line in the garage, so it was plug and play.
You will need a 240v 50amp service to the plug in our case it was pretty convenient.
Because it is so short, you are very limited in where you can place the charger relative to your 240v outlet.
Heavily discounted over many of the competitors and i noticed autel runs random several hour sales sometimes daily in the afternoon.

Also if you get the one with the 240 1450 plug just know they send it so it can be plugged in upside down so you’ll have to flip your receptacle

This will go up to 40a but the siemens was a 30a so only a 40a breaker was installed

The j1772 connector probably weighs near five pounds and feels like its made out of metal

If youre not hardwiring make sure to mount the charger exactly the distance to the plug as that cable is stiff and has almost no play in it
