Pros
This is my first vacuum sealer, and i bought this machine mostly for sous vide cooking. It is also quieter than any of the other vacuum packers i have owned. Love the self cooled motor.
The avidarmor a100 is easy to use, virtually fool proof. The customer service is outstanding at avid armor. The vacuum sealer is a step above cheaper versions like foodsaver brand.
The first photo is of my old sealer and the new sealer stacked, for those who need a visual guide for size. New sealer works fantastic. My suggestion to you is, if you are looking for a vacuum sealer, this is the one.
Critical differences are, however, that my old one could latch shut and turn to sit upright on a shelf.
Great value for it's performance. What a bonus. They seem to have a life span of a couple of years. Very pleased, worth the money.
Cons
Sealing heat bar is trash, works 50% of the time. Machine cycles and pulls a vacuum then cycles again until it melts the material. Now the scones were flattened into crepes.

Price
Definitely worth the price if you will be using it for processing large quantities of meat.
Could have saved a lot of money if i had bought this originally.
It cost a little more but well worth the extra money.
Shipping
They had me replace the gasket as i had one still from the original shipment, they actually include when you buy the machine.
So went to avid and requested support of which i got "we will respond within 2-3 business days.
Packaging/appearance
Works great when packaging alot at one time, doesn't overheat and seal bag to soon.
Competitiveness
While it may be a bit early to say this sealer is the ticket, i feel very good about my odds as compared to the alternatives i have tried.
After a lot of research i chose the avid armor a100 and it exceeded my expectations.
There really wasn't much of a difference from there biggest competitors and they're a lot cheaper.
Avid armor beats the competition by a mile.

Bottom line if you’re looking for a sealer that is more commercial then a light weight countertop units then this sealer will do that job and then some
