The kindle itself is quite durable ive never seen one get a cracked screen like a smartphone or ipad might but i still like to have the screen protected from scratches when i toss it in my backpack or purse and this was great for that

Its slim protects the edges from bumps the magnets keep it closed in a bag and i love the auto wake feature that lets you just open and close the cover to wake up your kindle and put it to sleep
