I highly recommend the baofeng brand, and especially these new and improved handheld radios.
I can't knock it to much as just about ever ht from every brand has this issue.
You should not believe all the advertised specs, as baofeng radios are known to underdeliver in the power spec department.

Of course not but if you want something that wont break the bank that works reasonably well and you wont be mad if it gets lost or destroyed here is your radio

Only thing you may want is an improved antenna i like nagoya products and you may want to invest in a second battery to keep one in your rig while you have another one available for shtf scenarios
