An update to the venerable uv-5r and it's software-defined radio, this one has multiple ham bands and is not fcc compliant.

All in all, it's a great little radio considering how inexpensive it is.

$27) this little radio is a great buy.

You get less spurious transmissions, they definitely can't be hacked to go off the amateur bands (yet), that and it is very inexpensive.

The gt-5r pro addresses those concerns at a price point that anyone should be able to afford.
