Pros & Cons
Pros
Radio works well, accepts aftermarket antenna. Used aboard sailing vessel as a vhf to hail bridges and locks for openings. Copy frequency function works great every time i've tried it, and even copies ctcss/dcs.
For the price, baofeng remains a budget-minded ham radio enthusiast's go-to. It's worth purchasing a supplemental book to understand all of the features and functions.
Cons
The copy frequency is off both uhf and vhf, will not copy correctly air copy. A chinese uniden knock-off of uniden. No range. Even with a proper 108/136 antenna within 1/2 mile of ct.
