Pros

The one issue i have is the belt clip. Great customer support on the seller's side. I am now in the process of reviewing and then purchasing the coiled earpieces to make communication easier to hear as we are overseeing those attending the event.

Good way to listen in on noaa channels, fm radio and other frequencies. Includes extra battery and better antenna than most. Includes the frequencies that the government restricted as of november 1st.

The uv-5r is easily programmed using chirp on either a pc or mac. It can be programmed with chirp. These are awesome and i have been able to program all easily.

File down the holes for the 2 prongs so it sits in there a little deeper. Follow the routine of charge/discharge method described in the instructions.

Good deal and good quality product so far

I've found the sound quality equal to that of the internal speaker/mike.

The result was the same with the other 3 radios with opposing software version.

This puts the pressure where you need it and the volume works good but the quality of the transmit isn't too great.

Price

These radios are amazing, especially for what they cost.

This level of electronics would be 10x the cost 10 years ago.

Packaging/appearance

So easy to have them ready to go right out of the box

One of the radios in the pack was defective with an error when programming.

Competitiveness

Each of the smaller boxes contains a uv-5r, two standard 1800mah batteries, a 6.

Use a genuine ftdi cable and save yourself a headache.

As a solution, i highly recommend using chirp software for programming along with a programming cable that includes a genuine ftdi chip.
