I bought this set for less than $60.

I just wanted a ham radio that would receive and maybe provide some entertainment value.

(parts list at bottom)when i got the first 2 boxes, they were missing fully half of the promised parts.

) simply picked the wrong box & abbree was not to blame.

Opening the box i was suprised, even though i knew what was in the box, at the contents.

Bought the 2 pack with the foldable antenna.

Competitiveness

I couldn’t find anywhere that showed the power output comparison between the uv-5r and the 5r8w.

Not as good as icom or yaesu but so much cheaper.

Doing additional research i found that the uv-5r, are not licensed for use frs or gmrs.
