They are inexpensive consumer radios with build quality comparable to a toy, and you need to handle them accordingly.

Just follow the advice of not over tightening the antenna so you do not lose the antenna washer still trying to hunt down a replacement for one

Opted not to get a better antenna or extended battery as it will last the 12 hours im on the tower

They are not a tactical radio they do not have an ip rating for waterproofing they are not intrisically safe they do not meet nfpa 1802 requirements
