Pros

Stock antenna works very well on ham bands. The nagoya is a recommended upgrade, so i automatically went with it. To charge it you have to sit it in the charging cradle that comes with it - somewhat a pita.

The battery life is great and the belt clip is great. Sound quality is perfect. More amp hours.

Uv-82hp is the uv5r on steroids. Swr is good power is 6. Range is ok. I highly recommend this for any firefighter or ems personnel that is looking to supplement their pager or as a replacement.

This is the best boafeng i have found. For 100 dollars it's worth every penny but on cyber monday for 50 i wish i had ordered 2 more. These are my new go to 'feng's. Just get it.

Cons

The radio speaks chinese and i specifically bought to scan radio frequencies for work and it's only 6 digits where the frequencies i need to scan are 7 digits. Anyway would not go into channel mode.

Tried to use the chirps program. Could not figure how to unlock. Written instructions says it comes locked due to fcc regulation.

The included hard copy user manual, and even the downloadable pdf, are replete with errors. The radio hardly fits into the charging base and even then you have to * it to get it out.

This really is a great radio at this price.

At under 70 bucks it’s a great buy and packs a good punch for what it is.

I saw this was half the price and decided to try it out.

Shipping

The units arrived quickly and were packaged very well.

Just make sure that baofeng is the shipper, so you'll have no problems.

Finally gave up and was ready to send it back, but decided to get a cable and try it that.

Works as well as any other baofeng…think the price is a lil high compared to most other baofeng radios… but i like the color options.

The range seemed just as good as their more expensive radios.
