If you plan on purchasing please be aware that the overall length is 1 foot not the extension length

It actually extends the light about 8 inches as 4 inches of it is either in the socket or holding the end of the bulb

I removed both bulbs and put in this bluecell 12 flexible gooseneck bulb holder in place of one of them

Then i screwed a motion detecting bulb into it

This product let me point the motion detecting bulb down the stairs so it goes off when someone is at the foot of the stairs
