I definitely love this newer version with the sturdy (wood) inserts.
The quality is fine, but i'm returning.
Decent quality, should be a 4 star but it's not expensive and not low quality just not great.
I wouldn't mess with the smaller size unless you are putting a pet that is smaller than 5 lbs.
Price
Bottom line: for the price, you can't go wrong.
Packaging/appearance
In terms of shipping and packaging, this was delivered on time and in tact with no problem.
The packaging was over the top, however--the box that it came in was giant and completely unnecessary for the size of the contents.
Competitiveness
This is not a carrier for a dog to lay in unless it is somewhat less than 10lbs.

Unfortunately i had trouble getting my cat into this its better if you have 2 openings that way the cat will want to go inside voluntarily

So while she can be comfortably zipped in her face is directly behind the cloth and not the mesh
