The quality is amazing and the thickness is just right - not super heavy - i would say medium weight.
It washes and dries well in my machines and doesn't shed much at all even before the first wash.
This blanket is so incredibly soft, as soon as i opened it, my kids and i laid on it on the floor for a bit!

It is very big so you should take this to a dry cleaner and use the really big washing machine there instead of washing it at home

Im not saying it is going to shed but im more concerned other things might shed onto it and i wanna limit that problem as a possibility because of how awesome this shaggy comforter is
