There was a slight manufacturing smell when first received so i used a gentle wash cycle and per the included instructions i did not tumble dry instead i hung it from a couple of hangers in the laundry room

It works well as a comfy throw for watching tv on cold winter nights but i would not consider it a blanket for bed
