It is clearly designed more for the laptop with its parsimonious 2xusbc ports.
Price
The dock is indeed expensive, yet incredibly versatile.
Sure this is great, but i would like to see it at a sub £100 price level.
If you don't need additional charging or screens though - there are card readers and expansion adapters at a small fraction of the cost.
Shipping
The power delivery is also a great option as my power brick is huge and cumbersome to travel with.

The software you download is ok i am not sure it would be needed that often but it seems unobtrusive until needed

The construction is also of a good standard and i am confident that it will last at least the life of its intended use structurally at least

You could probably combine two other docks and get all of the features of this one for quite a bit less but then you wouldnt have the clean aesthetics that you have with this single unit so the price being high is really a case of opinion

The hdmi ports worked flawlessly one at 4k 60hz and one at 4k 30hz i couldnt check if both worked at 4k at the same time though
