Shortly after i installed this on my dsl line i was again hit by a strong power spike strong enough to cause a popping sound in this device and to cause scorch marks on the modular connectors on the phone lines going into and out of this device

We purchased this item several years ago and it worked last week during some major thunderstorms that is it took the hit and arrested a surge that otherwise would have destroyed my equipment
