Found the clamp voltage rating is rather high unusually likely to have to take advantage of the equipment protection guarantee if i get a direct strike before replacing this with a lower clamp voltagehigh joule rating surge protector joules ratings are not the be all and end all of home surge protectors and i did not look into the clamp voltage which is rather difficult to determine at first for this unit due to some false or out of date or misleading info on the net
