Pros & Cons
Pros
There are plastic dividers in the bottom of the base that hold an extra length of cable. I almost feel ashamed using this fine piece of hardware on our * homemade wiring (we didn't do the wiring) - hence our plethora of fire alarms and two fire exting... Read More
It is sturdy. It is plastic, but it feels like a sturdy plastic. It's much sturdier and drop proof. But it's the industrial sized power source that made the shipping box so heavy.
The box is big enough to hold 10 notebook computers. The footprint is about that of a laptop, but, with the 10 slots, you can fit -- and charge -- 10 laptops. It allows the cords to be tucked away underneath and plugged in the back.
The b2b074 is made sturdily enough to last a while even in a rough and tumble environment. Some people complain about it's bulkiness, but you just got to find a good place for it.
Cons
In my classroom, i have 8 chromebooks with all of the power cords hanging out of the back, which pretty much defeats the purpose. This should not be marketed to chromebooks.
The $30 surge protector has no locking mechanism. There are no places to plug a usb charging cable directly into the surge protector. The biggest problem is the lack of space in the basin for cords.
Highlights
Quality
That said, it is very sturdy and holds all devices (all of which have various covers) well.
Works great, easy to set up and every classroom or office with multiple ipads should have one.
My biggest issue was that the compartment inside that keeps the cords organized is supposed to easily slide and pop off to allo... Read More
My last organizational attempt, velcro-ing the chargers to a bookcase, was a complete fail.
Price
I'm really impressed with this and though the price is fairly high.
A very cost effective solution to the pricey similar storage case that was available at the apple store for considerably more money
This is an extremely expensive plastic tote.
If it wasn’t so expensive, i wouldn’t be bothered by it.
Shipping
And be prepared, i was shocked at how large this was when it arrived.
Packaging/appearance
Upon opening the shipping box, two small plastic pieces fell out.
I didn't realize how big it is until the box arrived: it really is big enough to hold 10 notebook computers.
While the charge station is pretty nifty, it comes fully assembled, it's not as lighweight as it looks, much sturdier and drop ... Read More
Competitiveness
We now have 4 of these and they are better than the aftermarket charging solutions.
3 - power: if you want to swap out the standard 110v powerstrip, belkin sells 10-port usb power strips that you can use instead.
This is similar to the ugly floppy disk cases we had in the '70s.
Not a major issue, and at least belkin allowed for this type of flexibility.

I do wish it was not quite as deep because it takes up a lot of space but if it was much smaller my ipad pro would not fit

My biggest issue was that the compartment inside that keeps the cords organized is supposed to easily slide and pop off to allow for easy access and mine must be defective because it is nearly impossible to remove

It isn’t a major deal i just ended up feeding the cords through without removing that compartment

If it wasn’t so expensive i wouldn’t be bothered by it

To be fair the cost of the unit is less than what we were spending in replacement charging cables
