Pros

Belkin superspeed usb hub performs as advertised. Works great on the desk, easy to mount, led indicator light and speeds on all ports has been excellent.

Macs can be rather fussy about the quality of the hubs you use with them. The belkin on my mac mini works well with my late 2012 imac. Using with a macbook pro retina. Hub with a mac.

My seagate external usb 3. External disk drive has four ports. This makes four ports at a very convenient location so that i can select a usb port easily.

The only flaw is the connection between the hub and whatever port you connect to on your pc. Not a problem for a desktop arrangement, but could be an issue for someone looking for a more mobile setup. Purchased a 6 foot super speed data cable from cab... Read More

Cons

Simply plugging it in for a moment was enough to corrupt the drives on a $2000 customized desktop beyond repair. Drives fail to mount at times; and they spontaneously undock/ eject without provocation.

What's the point of a powered 4 port hub if it won't actually power anything? Power cord is ridiculously short, usb cable is twice as long. It also has a cumbersome cord head, blocking plugs on a power strip.

Other than that, i am very happy with the purchase.

Hub works with no problems with the longer cable.

Doesn't charge anything requiring higher amps even with the power plugged in.

I just wish i did not have to try the others along the way to finding one that worked well with the apple imac.

Price

On the downside the price is a gouge, and, on that point, with the high price one would expect a longer power cord.

Packaging/appearance

So far, all of my external portable drives (& i have many -- all in the 2tb category) work with it flawlessly.

Not a deal breaker; still a great usb3 hub.
