In rereading the most helpful review on this item, i recognize now how accurate it is. This thing smells terrible, has a horrible crackling sound, and does not have the cushy gel in the wrist rest that it advertises!

Finally, the discription says gel, however there is no gel! Overall very disappointing in it. Very disappointed and irritating. Very disappointing and unpleasant.

The new mouse pad is not soft. The inside is hard and crinkly. The padding seems to be wrapped in crackly plastic under the cloth exterior, which makes it crackle.

The odor from this gel version is killing me. The pad is not 12 inches. What is 12 inches is the packaging. All the memory foam ones i found on amazon and tried are less than 18.
