Pros

The scout kydex dosent. Fit great in the hand. Some people complain about the kydex sheath since it's scout carry design, but i like that too, and it retains the blade really well.

Short, to be sure, but deep-bellied. Love them. Benchmade is da kine! Knife is awesome.

The knife is overall effective and good quality all while being esthetically pleasing. Great knife - balanced, stout, and eminently usable.

The steel is very good, the kydex sheath holds the knife firm in place.

The knife is beautiful (with an extremely sharp edge to the blade) and the sheath is sturdy and holds the knife perfectly.

The sharp blade scores it when resheathing if not lined up perfectly and the unchangable scout carry lost me.

The knife itself deserves 5 stars but the sheath is practically useless.

Price

This is worth every penny, the s30v steel takes a very sharp edge and holds it for a long time.

It seems cheap for a +$100 knife.

I was able to take mine to the benchmade store in oregon and they engraved the blade with custom artwork for only $5.

A simple and inexpensive design change in hole spacing would make the carry positions versatile.

Shipping

Firstly, this knife came in the mail in a matter of days, which was a lot faster than the predicted shipping date.

I didn't buy this from amazon because i wouldn't get my two day shipping as with most items i order.

Competitiveness

I went back and forth over the benchmade hidden canyon hunter and the dozier professional skinner.

(probably my 500th knife) all i can say is i will probably never buy another brand.
