I find flicking the knife open with my thumb to be very natural and needed zero break-in. This can be eased by attaching a lanyard on paracord knot. Will probably install a back-spacer to get it a bit more rigid.

The blade's sharpness out of the box is impressive. It retains its edge well, reducing the need for frequent sharpening. Free lifetime sharpening is a wonderful perk. I find this blade design very functional and the easiest to sharpen.
