Pros
Anchor-hocking jug is available on amazon. When the pressure is too high, it expels surplus from the top. Has not leaked a drop since.
Cons
Company that supplies these to berkey wants a restocking charge when you return it. Definitely disappointed in this product and would not recommend.
When the washers are added, the plastic nut can go over the end of the threads, barely. Love the ability to see the level but leaks from the spout.
There is a hole in the top of the metal gauge that allows contact with the air around the device and potentially contaminants from your nice clean berkey filtered water. It leaks like crazy. Had to leave container under it, probably collected a quarte... Read More

Sad to say despite following the simple clearly illustrated installation instructions to the letter the device leaked which the stainless steel device did not

We attributed this difference to the fact that the mounting hardware for the stainless steel version includes two thick silicone washers one to go outside the lower chamber and one to go inside

The sight glass spigot however comes with two thin silicone washers both of which go on the outside of the lower chamber and none on the inside

Addendumusing the sight glass spigot to increase the flow rate if you have pf2 arsenicfluoride filters installedaccording to the berkey website the pf2 filters slow the flow rate of the big black filters by 1520

But the website also states that the flow through the pf2 filters will slow even more once they have become submerged in the water that is filling the lower chamber
