Pros

Anchor-hocking jug is available on amazon, and we have reviewed it. Easy to keep the bottom tank near topped off without fearing an overflow.

We are happy to report that this workaround is a success. Its no brainer. Seems a tad fragile, but it's just fine.

Cons

The seals seem to work but the lever leaks as if was slightly open one slow drop at a time. It leaks like crazy. It's like the threads don't fit into the threads on the plastic spout.

This is great and was so easy to install.

Worked great for 1 week then washers loosened up and we drained berney and retightened.

Doesn't work if your top and bottom half is sealed tightly as the pressure will force water out the top of the sight tube.

Price

It is very worth the extra money!

Fortunately, having paid a mint for the berkey, this is small change.

Seems expensive, but quality is good - worth the money based on quality.

Shipping

If this was oem (with no box) amazon's sub-par shipping department would have destroyed it.

Be careful as it was shipped in an envelope.

Surprised it was shipped in a "soft" paper envelope, providing minimal protection from shipping damage.

Packaging/appearance

5 stars for the quality of the product and manufacture's packaging.

Also makes me wonder why it isn't part of the basic package.
