Pros & Cons
Pros
Comes in a rugged looking metal case with the bits pocketed in foam. All the bits were wrapped in individual plastic and oiled to prevent rust. Includes aluminum storage case with foam insert for drills.
Good quality set with the same sizes runs over $200, more if you want cobalt or tin coating.
However, they seem perfectly serviceable for a hobbyist such as myself. Pros:-low price point.
Cons
Extremely disappointed in quality/durability. Serious manufacturing defects in some of the bits rendering them unusable. It's marked hss but clearly is not. And there needs to be much stricter quality control measures put into place.
These drill bits are too soft for drilling mild steel. Even at slowest speed i fear the drill press will come apart! I'm tempted to return the bits immediately, but will probably sharpen and try again.
All three developed chips in the cutting edge or flutes after 4 holes. They chipped the bits after two holes.
The only bit sharp enough to cut anything was the 1 bit. Started with a 1/4 drill bit from a different set, slowly getting to 1/2.

I'm using them on my milling machine and for the price they are pretty good.
These were cheap, but i don't plan to use them every day.
Packaging/appearance
Inside, the bits were packaged in a nice wooden box, each individually plastic wrapped.
Bits came packaged in a robust cardboard box with exterior bubble wrapping.
Competitiveness
These seem better than others i have had in the past of cheaper brands
Hf sells a set for $50 and hf aint exactly known for quality so for these to be even cheaper and in my opinion, better quality ... Read More
