Pros

Took a chance of a refurbished one, listed as “purple”, at half price. It’s the blackest purple i’ve ever seen! Nice long cord. Love the gravity on/off.

Quality

The handle is sturdy and the mug is durable.

Simple approach: one temperature, mechanical switch activated by weight which is so accurate that my empty cup doesn’t turn it on.

This cup is 20oz and the plate cuts off when the cup is removed.

What didn't work well is that the base of my own cup's handle got hot when the cup was only 1/4 full of liquid.

Price

One of the least expensive things i got him.

I ended up returning the cup&warmer and purchasing the warmer which was $17 as compared to $34!

Packaging/appearance

It also comes with its own pretty cup, which is a matching matte pink color on the outside, and a pale ivory on the inside.

I liked that the white cup and warmer looked as nice as i expected out of the box.

It came with a nice sized black cup.

Competitiveness

I tend to sip my coffee slowly, and it tends to cool off much more quickly than i'd prefer.

The bottom isn't completely flat, so i compared the bottom to other, bigger cups i already have and i can use them as well.
