Pros & Cons
Pros
I swear my old version has the best brownie recipe in the universe but it is different in this newer version. New recipes are great, however, my husband prefers the old snickerdoodle cookie recipe over the new recipe. Ingredients are always accessible... Read More
The oxo of cookbooks. Contains chapters and pages that outline the cooking basics for beginners. Love this cookbook.

Cons
The pages are too flimsy for a binder type of cookbook. It is too small, and not hardcover. Ordered the spiral-bound version of this book as a christmas gift, received a cheap comb-bound versions.
It is as cheap as the review said. It's too busy and seems extremely preachy. My gripe is the order of the sections. Kind of a mis-step from betty here.

Competitiveness
The cookbook has been updated over the years as grocery stores have increased available food products and the american diet has changed.
Comparing it to previous editions of the same cookbook, i think they've lessened the salt a bit too much.
