Pros & Cons
Cons
The metal ring binder is broken and detached. The paper using is too flimsy. Although many recipes are outdated. My book only goes to frostings but when you look at the index 11 more subjects are past that.
Highlights
Quality
I love this version and the sectioning and all the useful information on measurements and substitutions.
This is a wonderful cookbook for scratch baking and cooking with real ingredients.
Entire sections had been removed and placed in the wrong sections.
The cake, cookie, and bread chapters are superb; the only tweak needed 70 years on is to halve whatever salt the recipes call for.
Price
It was a great price and it is in very good condition.
This book as it was originally written is absolutely priceless and should be part of anyones cookbook library.
With high grocery prices, you can't go wrong in getting back to old fashioned cooking.
Shipping
If it arrives before i can do something about it.
Competitiveness
This is exactly the same as my mom's beat up cookbook from 1952.
