Ive had mine for 2 years and the only maintenance required is an occasional ie every 6 months descale of the heater surface by simply boiling white vinegar as its subject to many cycles of full vaporization of tap water leaving a mineral residue on the bottom

One tip to remember always poke the end of the egg that is facing up in the carton i didnt know that for the longest time and kept wondering why my eggs were blowing up

The description said it turned off when the eggs were cooked it only sounds a buzzer but does not turn off automatically
