I use it for a portable scanner and am very pleased with the additional range and clarity of the signals being received.
The sma connector and cord attached, are very solid and good quality.
The magnet is pretty weak though, so i wouldnt try to drive with the antenna stuck to the car.
My wife loves this antenna, works great

Iv got atleast a 40km receive range through bush and mountainous terrain havn't tested my transmit range.

That said they also do not pick up a lot of what the stock ones do when scanning

The only time they beat out the stock antennas is on frequencies they can both pick up and only sometimes

So i can only judge reception and have mixed feelings about these antennas and only limited basic testing and therefore a not fully formed or expert opinion on them for performance

As for construction the magnets as others have said are average to weak

Even if they do not extend my range or clarity or pick up things i thought i might i chalk that up to my limited experience and single limited testing scenerio
