    But basically the large bulbs dim to nearly dark at the low end of the switch say 95 and these dim to more like 30 causing the center section to glow noticeably more than the arms

    My light is on a photocell so its on all night which explains why standard bulbs burn out so frequently

    Turned out they need to be screwed down really tight as they werent quite making contact in my admittedly ancient fixture
