I wash the filter after using the vacuum and place a clean one back in the vacuum

Rating changed from 2 to 5 the problem was not with the filter it was with the prefilter the bottom gasket was too dusty for a secure hold

It seems identical to the original and fits the same but when the vacuum nozzle is rotated open and closed a few times the filter works itself loose the plastic prefilter cup

I tried removing and reinstalling several times and got the same result
