I am not new to fixing appliances so i decided to do a teardown and see what was wrong

The switch which is a known issue with dust degrading performance still works fine is conductive when it should be and bypassing didnt fix the unit

The unit appears to charge but i cleaned the contacts of the base and the unit itself

The base was giving the appropriate power levels so it or more specifically the power adapter was fully functional

Had i checked the battery unit before disassembly i may never had ordered the replacements as it seems they were not the culprit

It seems that while the charging circuit is seemingly functioning perfectly the power distributing circuit is dead
