Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Cultivator works as advertised. It gets down 3 to 4 inches in soil to remove weeds and loosen soil in one step. It does a great job tilling the loose soils.

The power of it is actually pretty impressive considering the limitation of being battery powered. It is easy to maneuver and control. Batteries are interchangeable.

Cons

Black and decker cordless tiller is terrible. Blades bent when attempting to loosen soil.

Piece of junk. Very disappointing. Unless you have a very small area, in which case a shovel and a reasonably good back can do the job anyway.

Home depot claims they'll take it back within thirty days for any reason. Second b&d battery too expensive and not practical with 6 hour recharge time versus 30-45 minutes to deplete battery.

Price

All in all, it’s pretty nice for the price and is good for smaller areas with crowded plants.

I do not think this is worth the money they are asking and then you still have to invest in the battery and charger.

I got a refurbished one and it came with a battery for under $100.
